George goes back to school tomorrow! It’s a bitter sweet feeling – he has been really good (I think!) at getting on with his school work and just knowing that he is home and safe, has been a comfort to me. However, I know he has missed being with his friends and human interaction is so important, particularly for an only child.

There is no doubt their education will have suffered somewhat and it is important to get the back into routine. He had to attend school on Thursday and take a Covid test – they tested 900 pupils and they were all negative! Phew! They are going to have to wear masks during their lessons and test themselves at home twice weekly, so they are doing all that they can to ensure our children’s safety.

The downside is having to get him moving early again, making sure his uniform is washed and ironed and worst of all, back to making sandwiches for his packed lunch!

So this is our first step back to what we call “normal” living. It’ll be interesting to see how the numbers look in a couple of weeks. Over a third of the adult population in England have received their first vaccine – isn’t that fantastic?

So for me, I get the house to myself! I can get back on top of my jobs – it is amazing how distracting it is when Ian and George are in the house! I have a few orders to attend to tomorrow and another window change. Still no sign of the Caprice footwear delivery…… I have chased but they say they have been dispatched and must be held up at the Port – I guess I have Brexit to thank!

I’m still working hard behind the scenes, creating videos and loading stock onto the Facebook and Instagram platforms – it takes time, but I am attracting some new followers and interaction.

My most recent video of the new dresses resulted in four sales to friends of my mother-in-law!!! I think people are really starting to believe they will be able to get out and about and therefore thinking about refreshing their Spring/Summer wardrobes – at least I hope they are!

This week I have selected an image of one of the Luella 100% cotton jumpers to showcase – these are so colourful and fun for Spring priced at £49.

Have a good week everyone, remember to remain safe and keep up the good work following the guidelines. Look out for each other and be kind.

As always, sending you lots of love, good health and best wishes.

The team at Karen George are still here for you – click and collect or delivery.
