CarFest was a lot of fun, but foolishly, we believed the weather forecast! How I wished I had taken a coat and not worn shorts!! It wasn’t too bad during the day but come early evening we were absolutely freezing and it was difficult to enjoy the performances whilst shivering away. We were sat on a bank looking down to the stages and the wind cut right through you.

There was lots to see and do, but the queues for food were ridiculous. I queued for over an hour for pizza! Still, we now know how to prepare for next time. Texas were excellent, as was Beverley Knight and Ricky Wilson – we didn’t stay until the end as we were just too cold. I had the most wonderful hot shower when we arrived home and went straight to bed with a cup of tea at midnight.

Our local village had a Bank Holiday Fete and we wandered down to watch George’s two friends “The Dreamers” perform their music – they were great and a small crowd gathered round to enjoy the entertainment. We always bump in to friends we haven’t seen in ages, but this year it was mostly Ian’s fellow postmen!

On Tuesday, some new Robell trousers arrived at the shop, so I spent time finding homes for them and logging them in to our stock. I packed up all of the shorts to make space and put them into my car, and would you believe it, the first customer of the day said she was looking for shorts!!

George went back to school just for one day on Friday, so all back to normal next week, and I’m back in the shop Monday – Wednesday.

Our Adini stock was delivered yesterday so I’ll be getting this on the shelves for you as quickly as I can tomorrow, and of course it will be available online. This image is just one of the styles which has arrived.

Sending you lots of love, good health and best wishes. Look out for each other and be kind.
