Well those of you who follow on Social Media will have seen a little montage of photographs from our day at Goodwood Festival of Speed last Sunday. We were very lucky with the weather, at least it was dry with some hot spells but quite a consistent breeze which wasn’t always welcome!
Lots of expensive food and drink, and the highlight of the day for my husband was meeting, and having his photograph taken, with Wayne Rainey – yes Rainey, not Rooney!! ha ha. Wayne Rainey was the former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer who won the 500cc World Championship three times before a serious accident leaving him paralysed from the chest down. He had his bike modified which he rode up the famous Goodwood Hill – bit of an emotional moment.

One lady came into the shop this week with her mum, who lives in Chidham. She now lives in Paris but was just visiting and always calls in. She mentioned how she reads my weekly email so I said I’d give her a mention too – so hello and I hope you’ll be wearing your new top to work this week!
My heart was bursting with pride on Wednesday evening – it was George’s Prom night, and, whilst of course, I am biased, I thought he looked extremely handsome (I had to beg him to allow me to share this photo!). They had a fantastic night over at the The Village Hotel in Portsmouth. So many photos and videos of them all singing and dancing together – the modern age! We didn’t have Proms, let alone mobile phones to capture these fun times. Everyone had made a real effort and they all looked stunning. The girls had had their hair and makeup done, fabulous colourful dresses and the boys all in suits and many arrived in fancy cars.
It’s a bit quieter at the shop this week, but that always happens during Wimbledon. We’ll enjoy the calm before the storm!
