Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one to wish my life away, but what a miserable January it has been! The shop has been so quiet and I’m desperate for the new stock to arrive and for the weather to warm up! It know it isn’t likely to warm up too soon, afterall it is winter – I guess I should count my blessings that it’s been relatively dry. (sorry if I’ve spoken too soon!).
On Monday, Lyn and I selected a lovely collection of Caprice boots for next Autumn/Winter – we are also introducing a couple of styles which are “Certified Vegan” – the word “Certified” is very important here, because many people think they are buying vegan, but often the glues etc still use animal fat, but Caprice do not, which is why their products are officially “Certified Vegan”.
Somehow I managed to write our visit to see the Adini collection, on the wrong day on my calendar! So whilst I was sitting at home having arrived back from Bournemouth seeing Caprice, reflecting on the photographs of the order, I received a text from Helen (Adini), asking me if I was on my way!! Imagine my horror! I’d told Annie and Lyn we were meeting Tuesday night! Fortunately, we rescheduled for 8.30am the next day. Again, we have ordered some lovely pieces and I know we have a lot of Adini fans who will love our choices. They include some “dressier” dresses and tops for occassion wear, as well as one or two day dresses, a jumper and some shirts.
Annie did a lovely job with the windows this week – we’ve kept a lot of sale footwear in and changed up the clothing to all blues.

I love my business, and, within reason, I really do want to provide what you want and to know what you’d like to see more of. We have received our first small delivery from Marble which is now on the website and will be in store on Monday. This is literally hot off the press so as subscribers to this email, you get early notification before the rush!! Get prepared early for those holidays! I love this pretty skirt – had to have one!
Omicron cases are falling, restrictions are being eased and the vaccine rollout continues. This is all positive news but we need to continue to be careful and respect each other by keeping distance where possible. Also whilst it is no longer mandatory to wear a face covering from Thursday, we should respect those who feel more comfortable wearing them. Likewise at Karen George we will continue wearing our masks for everyone’s safety and comfort.
