Business has been steady at the shop this week – Friday was very busy and Saturday a bit of a wash out. The afternoons are noticeably quieter during Wimbledon, so those of you not fussed for the tennis, come and visit us in the afternoon, it is much quieter!
The window display has been a great success this week too – we’ve sold many items which were on display, especially the wide leg trousers and criss cross sleeved t-shirts.
I’ve booked in four appointments to meet suppliers to view next Summer’s collections, so it’s going to be a busy July/August travelling to these meetings. If you have any specific requests of things you’d like to see in store, do let me know and I’ll keep my eyes peeled.
It’s a full week of sport, what with Formula 1, tennis and of course the Euros. I appreciate not everyone is interested in the football but my household loves it and Tuesday night was so thrilling – beating Germany and no penalties WOW! Now we’ve beaten Ukraine 4-0 and are through to the semi-finals – yes, the semi-finals!! Well done lads great to finally see some goals and we look strong to face Denmark on Wednesday – one game at a time, but we are as close as we’ve ever been.
Next weekend we have the Goodwood Festival of Speed to look forward to – we feared it would have been cancelled but really pleased that it is going ahead as a pilot event as part of the Events Research Programme. So long as we meet certain conditions i.e. had both doses of the vaccine or proof of a negative lateral flow test, we are good to go! Just praying for good weather.
I’m in the middle of re-decorating our spare bedroom – here’s a tip – don’t use Blu-Tak on your walls – it leaves a greasy mark which is difficult rub down and paint over. The job is more difficult because we had a crazy idea of painting it all white…….. previously blue!! It’s taking a few coats!
